Mastering the energy crisis together
Even in difficult times, Contipark is consciously focussing on environmental protection with commitment and conviction. The energy crisis is currently affecting people and companies in Germany. To ensure fair and sustainable energy distribution, we are therefore continuing to reduce the consumption of our car park facilities and thus making an important contribution to conserving scarce energy resources.
An intelligent package of energy-saving measures has been developed for this purpose. Cleverly implemented in line with demand, saving energy is not a burden, but exactly the right new measure.
LED lighting
In multi-storey and underground car parks, lighting accounts for the largest share of electricity consumption, in many cases over 60 per cent. As early as 2011, Contipark began installing LED lighting in all of the company’s car parks where it had the contractual option to do so. This significantly reduces electricity consumption and consumption-related CO2 emissions. Coupling with a lighting control system further increases the energy savings.
Today, LED lighting systems are part of our standard. Every new construction project is planned with LED lighting solutions from the outset – an investment that pays off. Not only for Contipark, but also for the environment.
CO2 neutrality
Another milestone in Contipark’s environmental commitment is its certification as a CO2-neutral company. Contipark has been CO2-neutral since 2013. This “climate neutrality” is achieved through a variety of CO2-reducing measures that are used in both new and existing car park facilities. The purchase of green electricity, the promotion of electromobility and the use of energy-saving LED lighting reduce our CO2 emissions.
Contipark offsets emissions that cannot be avoided by participating in recognised climate protection projects.
Eco-friendly electricity
As one of the first measures to reduce the impact on the environment, Contipark decided back in 2011 to switch completely to eco-friendly electricity from renewable energy sources.
Since then, water, wind and sun have supplied the energy for the company’s multi-storey car parks, underground car parks, car parks and offices. The purchase of environmentally friendly green electricity has been an integral part of Contipark’s corporate strategy ever since. When operating our charging stations, we also attach particular importance to verifiable power supply from renewable energy sources.
