The Mozart-City-Center underground car park with 196 parking spaces is open again The underground car park with over 3,000 m2 in Dametzstraße had been closed since the end of May 2023. The reason for this was the extensive general refurbishment of the car park opposite Hessenpark. Contipark invested around three million euros in the measures. On average, around 100,000 short-term parkers use the underground car park in Linz city centre every year.
The measures planned by Spirk + Partner Ingenieur GmbH included the concrete refurbishment of all components on both levels, the application of a surface protection system on the 1st basement level and the installation of mastic asphalt on the 2nd basement level. Furthermore, the conversion of the entire garage drainage system and the repair of all building services, such as the electrical system, safety lighting, fire alarm systems and a sprinkler system.
New signage was installed to improve orientation and the pre-installation of e-charging points was carried out. Last but not least, a modern and powerful new car park system was installed that works completely without a ticket.
The complex construction measures were realised by Betonsanierung Bauschutz GmbH & Co. KG, electrical engineering by Leyrer + Graf Baugesellschaft m.b.H.
“We are delighted that we were able to realise the conversion so quickly thanks to our efficient partners. Quality was important to us, but so was the speed of realisation. After all, we want to quickly provide the people of Linz with the urgently needed parking facilities in the city centre again – and we have also paid for this. Nevertheless, we have been able to maintain our favourable parking rates,” says Andreas Knops, member of the Contipark management and Head of Real Estate Management.
